Meet Berenice Velazco
Business Owner, Funeral Director, Embalmer
It’s not every day you meet a funeral director and embalmer—much less a mortician with a heart like Berenice’s. Since childhood, she always loved helping people—whether physically, mentally or emotionally. While earning her degree in Mortuary Science in 2002, Berenice managed to graduate from the program, raise her child, and complete her apprenticeship with Forest Lawn, all while working at St. Jude Hospital in Fullerton. Throughout the years, she’s had the wonderful experience of working at other large mortuary corporations like Rose Hills and Mount Sinai to broaden her experience in business operations as well as working with different cultures. Since 2005, Berenice pursued her dream of opening her own business, Berenice’s Cremation and Burial Care (BCBC). She offers full funeral services, which includes counseling and advanced planning, with an emphasis on personalization. She’s compassionate and understanding but holds a unique and special strength to help people get through difficult times. Berenice is passionate about helping others and she welcomes any question.
